I am somewhat interested in Magglio or Abreu. Maggs is a free agent while Abreu is on the Angels right? If that is correct then I'd certainly lean toward Maggs.

The Angels released Abreu. Maggs is interesting, though.

If you mean while Reimold is out, thats one thing, but i think reimold should be given every opportunity to sieze the left field spot full time. He's been knocking the cover off the ball so far and i think his defense will improve to at least an average level. The last thing we need is another Vlad or Abreu type who is at the end of his career and will only take up time from young guys.

I think we're set with hitting depth between Betemit, Flaherty, Chavez and Johnson (assuming he get its together from now on).

So far Duquette's best move has been NOT getting old vets to block spots for young guys like reimold, Davis and Andino, and the young guys have responded by stepping up and producing. reynolds will bounce back, he's a lock for 35 home runs and will raise his batting average by at least 50 points.

As for a top of the order guy, Reimold's been doing pretty well so far, so its not like we're lacking in that department. who cares if he's not the prototypical guy who constantly bunts and has no power. Just because he could hit further down in the order doesnt mean he has to.

I live down here in Virginia Beach (for those of you that couldn't gather that from the screenname) and have a partial season ticket plan to the Norfolk Tides......

I have to tell you guys......it is SHOCKING how bad our farm team is. There are absolutely 5-7 AA teams that could win a best of 7 series from the Tides. The lack of hitters is astonishing....Bill freaking Hall's bloated corpse is batting cleanup for us. He was out of freaking baseball 2 weeks ago.

The answer to this question is absolutely YES. At some point during this season, we are GOING to need to call someone decent up from AAA.....and I'm sorry, that person is not currently there. Make a trade or sign someone. I'd be thrilled to get Abreu for just over the vet minimum and sending Nick Johnson down or giving him his outright release. Abreu cannot be any worse and at least he is able to work a count and draw a walk every now and again.

Machado and Bundy cannot come up to AAA fast enough. I regret spending the money on the ticket package every single game. It's like watching high school baseball.....only without the hustle.

Abreu would be a liability in the OF and the O's don't need another DH.

Its no exactly shocking that the Tides hitters are slumping in Harbor Park. Meanwhile Berken, Eveland, Steve Johnson, Villarreal, Miguel Gonzalez, Neshek, Socolovich, and Pomeranz are all pitching well in the pitcher's park.

I'm always in favor of making a smart trade and adding depth, but at this point, I wouldn't doing anything rash.

However, if Reimold is going to but out for a long time, I could see going after a high caliber LF. If this team is for real, at some point Dan should bolster the lineup.

Note: Endy Chavez is not a leadoff hitter let alone a full time player.

no doubt.....but they aren't hitting ANYWHERE.

Like I said, bill hall is our dh and he was at home watching games on tv two weeks ago. It's grim down here and harbor park has little to do with it.

Josh bell was our other cleanup hitter before we traded him for nothing. Not a good sign ha.

I second this notion. He is an obvious target for us.

David Wright is a perfect fit for this team, but I'm not willing to trade for him after one month of winning. Maybe in July I'm more willing.
