ESPN Columnist Apparently Doubles as a Con-Artist
http://deadspin.com/5906658/is-an-es...n-the-internet
Deadspin posted the above column on Tuesday, and has since posted a few updates and more articles about the subject.
Basically, this 22-yr old college student was writing for a gambling site and conning other users out of thousands of dollars. While this was happening ESPN hired her as a freelancer, never having met her. She was then able to use her ESPN platform to further her scamming.Last edited by Araqnid; 05-03-2012 at 09:12 AM. Wow. The internet is a crazy business. I feel terrible for this Ben kid. I hope Nick/Navin Prasad or whoever and this Stephanie Phillips character get VD.

Geez, what a nutty sequence, but I find it totally believable that something like this would happen. Like Scottie said, crazy business out there, and plenty isn't legit.
