Andino needs to be leading off, not Chavez
I understand that Buck wants Chavez in there with his speed I guess but Andino is hitting well right now and is pretty fast so I think as long as Reimold is out we need to switch Chavez and Andino. A guy hitting under .200 is not a guy I want getting the most at bats.
Even when Nolan comes back, I question whether he isn't better suited farther down the lineup with all the power he is bringing.
What say you OH?

I was thinking the same thing last night. Endy is barely a hitter let alone a leadoff hitter.
Still think Markakis is the best choice to leadoff and Andino is my 2nd choice (while Reimold is out).

Endy might not be so bad if he would just try to hit for contact. Lately he's been putting uppercut swings on pitches like he thinks he's Barry Bonds or something.

I agree. I think Andino should lead off. Part of me doesn't want to mess with a good thing, but part of me thinks we should continue to look to get better, which would include maximizing our lineup potential. I would like to see the lineup look something like this.
Andino
Markakis
Jones
Weiters
Davis
Reimold
Hardy
Reynolds
Betemit
or
Andino
Hardy
Markakis
Jones
Weiters
Davis
Reimold
Reynolds
Betemit

Basically. The Dino is hitting like .340 right now in the #9 slot. While he's obviously a better leadoff candidate than Chavez, I'm not sure you mess with him right now. The good news is Endy is hitting the ball hard and is probably due to get some hits. Also, Reimold should be back on Friday.

Dont move Andino yet. I am scared it might cause him to press.
Also pitchers will pitch him different just because the fact he is a leadoff hitter. Mentally pitchers dont get up for a ninth hitter.

You may not want to mess with a good thing but if Chavez continues to fail, you gotta maximize the guys on base for the RBI guys. If you don't wanna mess with Andino in the 9th hole then put someone else that's getting on base at leadoff. MAXIMIZE ON BASE!!

The way I see it Reimold bats behind Andino, except for the first AB. I much prefer that to Andino batting behind Chavez. If you really want to fix this line up, get Hardy out of the 2 hole, move every one up one, and stick Hardy between Davis and Reynold/Betemit.
