Well, the Ravens did OK in 2009 'without' Suggs. The 2009 Suggs was out of shape, and Kruger may very well be better than the 2009 Suggs. We forget that there was buzz of the Ravens dumping him...

LOL at all the over-the-top, knee-jerk, reactionary comments.

Step back, take a deep breath, and come to grips...yes, it sucks. Yes, Suggs' absence will have a negative effect on the Ravens' defense in 2012-13. No, the season isn't over. No, there won't be a flood of PSL's hitting the market. No, it doesn't mean he'll never ever return to form. Assumptions of any of the above at this point are just silly.

I said we may never see the 2011 version of Suggs again. It's not uncommon for players suffering severe leg injuries to lose a step.

Meh and plenty of guys come back just fine. I'd like to see you name a couple guys with achilles injuries this applies to before I'm convinced by anything you've presented here.

As much as losing Suggs hurts we should see some improvement in other areas that will help absorb the blow. Jimmy Smith could become a shut down corner giving us three outstanding cbs freeing up the LBs to blitz more. Ngata should be over his leg injury and we have a bunch of young de/lbs that should continue to develop.

With Suggs we could have been a great defense. Without him I still have no problems saying we will still have a good defense.

So...you're saying everyone can come in off the ledge? Are you sure it's safe?

For my own personal benefit, no. I want discounted PSLs.

from what was explained to me the "11 month" number is also a bit false in that they only play from Sep thru Feb, so even though they are playing from Feb-Aug, they are still counting those off season months eventhough the player might be ready for game 1 of the season in March

Oh my good lord our season is over. Our defense cannot survive such a loss. I mean, look what losing Mario Williams did to the Texans last season...

I'm confused. Do you mind explaining what you mean in a different way? The season doesn't start in March, and they don't play from February to August.

In other words if the player was 100% on march 1st, they wouldn't count his return until the first game of the year, in September

    Is that more clear?

So by "playing" you meant practicing, involved in activities and ready to go.

I'll be interested to hear what they say after the surgery and how bad or how quick the recovery can be.

For now, it's on Sizzle's shoulders to work hard, and for the next many up to fill in.

Ah yes, I see what you are saying now. Thanks.
