Recording live TV tech advice
I'm sure there are some knowledgeable and helpful tech savvy folks that frequent this area. Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Here's the situation.
I have a new place, and am currently using Comcast for TV/internet. Right now all i have from them is basically an HD cable box and that's it for my main TV.
My fiancee and I keep up with 4-5 shows, and most are available on XFINITY's on demand service, which is nice, and lets us catch up when we miss stuff.
But not all of them are.
What options do I have for recording live TV so I can re-watch shows later?
I would prefer some kind of DVR with a recordable/rewritable hard drive. Do such things exist anymore? My parents had one several years ago, but I thought they discontinued making them.
I think I would prefer to buy one up front rather than subscribe to comcast for 10 bucks or w/e a month and pay hundreds of dollars over the course of a few years.
Any recommended brands/models?
