Osi
So how badly do we need another pass rusher?
Do we consider seeing if we can add Umenyiora if we need to. The Giants probably don't want him or even "need" him that badly. We've been linked to him in the past. He wouldn't solve all of the issues Suggs injuries leave but he could be valuable.
Would you give up a 2nd round pick for him? Would Ozzie? Do you think it would take more.
If Suggs did make his way back for the playoffs, and we made it, Osi/Suggs/Upshaw/McPhee/Ngata sound like a pretty nasty wrecking crew for getting to the QB.

I would offer a 5 and give as high as a 4. He is pretty one dimensional, albeit a good dimension, but don't forget that the team that gets him is going to have to give him a new contract or they are going to get the same headache the Giants currently have. I doubt very seriously it gets done because I don't think Ozzie will give up enough in compensation for a one dimensional pass rusher that requires another hit to an already strapped cap situation.

He is in his last year of a deal, which means if we traded for him we would have to give him a deal when we already have Flacco and Rice to deal with. I am sure he is going to want a nice chunk of change too. We would have to get Flacco and Rice done before we could clear the cap room to do this. They should be looking in to getting a new deal done with Ed Reed too

I agree that we would need to get Flacco and Rice done to make this work.
I think I would be OK with giving up a 4th rounder (at most) for Osi just for this season, provided he was aware that we have no intention of keeping him here. Let him get his big money elsewhere. He can just be a "rent-a-player" for a season. Plus, if another team signs him after the season, we'll likely get the pick back in the 2014 draft.

No, really not necessary.

If we have the cap space (Rice/Flacco deals done). And we only have to give up a 4th, I don't see why the Ravens don't do that.
I do think we can get by without him. But I do this with the caliber of QB we're facing, it would no doubt help Pees to have a few more tools to work with.

I'd like to have Osi ...I dont see how the Ravens can find the money to cover his salary ...Unless they offer him a extension with a small salary and a big bonus.

No thanks, the Giants aren't just going to give him away. This is the type of desperation move a team like the Raiders would make.

If he held out on the Giants last year, he'd hold out on us this year unless he gets a big contract. Our pass rush will already be solid with Kruger, McPhee, Upshaw and a healthy Ngata and of course Suggs when he returns for the playoff push. Might be worth a 4th rounder but not the money he'll demand.
