Shorebird Transactions May 4 Cowan Baker

Jake Cowan placed on Temporary Inactive List.
Cowan is 0-0 with a 1.93 ERA in six appearances this season out of the bullpen.

RHP David Baker added from extended spring training.
Baker, 21, made nine starts for the Shorebirds last season and went 3-4 with a 2.82 ERA. In 54.1 innings pitched, he allowed just 40 hits.

Really looking forward to Baker getting back on the field. He sure was a pleasant surprise last year. I'm a little surprised they didn't add him to Frederick's roster since:

a) Delmarva already has a pretty darn good rotation of six starters,

b) He already performed well at Delmarva (and Frederick in more limited innings) last year.

Thanks for the info, Doc. I hope COwan's OK, I know he was the oldest player on Delmarva's roster, but he was "wildly effective" so far this year and I enjoy rooting for the one-time prospect.
