Hey, his stuff looked great. Maybe he's found a place as a short reliever. Look at his minor league record, he's not a starter.

Not very good control. Which could have been nerves. Fastball was anywhere from 92-96 but pretty straight. Decent little slurvy breaking ball. Ultimately, not sure he has a very good out pitch in the Majors. We'll see. Still should be solid BP arm.

Back in 2005 he started 26 games, as late as 2009 he started 14 games (and didn't do well):

Dude have you been watching the last couple days? Gregg is going no where unless he's traded. Which I wouldn't be surprised as there are a couple of teams that really need RPs right now. Pomeranz makes the bullpen complete if thy make a move.

Guess not. Now you wanna bet I'm wrong. Again, solid BP arm, not sure I'm seeing this electric 8th or 9th inning power arm everybody apparently thinks he has.

I thought he looked composed personally. They can certainly add a splitter even if he doesnt have one currently. The guy was a starter except for recently. Perhaps Buck wanted him to keep it simple tonight.

Actually..we could use one... Who couldnt?
We all had a good time with Stu's contingent in Sarasota. Several of us cheered at every Stu sighting and he seemed to feed off it. Because of his age and previous promise when drafted by the Cardinals, the Orioles kept him with the big league team all through the spring. He did nothing in the minors this year to let anyone think that he was not what he had appeared to be which was a mature, health (for one) arm that had a clue what to do. I am really happy that Stu has over come all he has and has gotten this shot. Who knows, He is now on Brian Matusz's day.

I bet Palmer is a better judge of pitching than you. He kept remarking on the movement on the FB and what a good arm he was. He seemed genuinely impressed. I was impressed with the difference between his FB and off speed pitches. He also seemed to have a fairly easy, quick delivery

Hey, 3 scoreless innings against the Rangers his 1st time out. Nothing at all to complain about there. I'll be watching him closely his next time out. Just didn't see anything that Wowed me.

Me too Weams....Do you think he has other pitches that we didn't see tonight?

I love Palmer. He's the man when it comes to pitching. I said I was probably expecting to much but I wasn't wowed by his stuff. Good arm. Don't know that he is a 8 or 9 K/ Inning guy power arm like his minor league stats would have you believe.
