To get Eveland on the 40 man roster the easiest move is to put BRob on the 60 day DL. He hasn't been spent to extended spring training yet which means he is probably at least a month away from activation. DFAing Wheeler is not a bad move either as I doubt anyone claims him.

Getting Eveland on the 25 man roster is a little harder. I think the best option is Pomeranz. Not because he hasn't pitched well enough to stay but rather because his option makes him the most vulnerable. O'Day who is the other bullpen guy with an option has earned the right to stay.

Many are saying that Hunter should be optioned and he might be the one to go. But it is unknown when Hammel will pitch again and that is a reason to keep Hunter for now. The potential of not having Hunter for available for 10 days is not the exposure that I want at this point. Matusz is right on the edge at this point also and he could need to be sent down.

All in all I think the O's can do without Pomeranz for 10 days more than the can put Hunter in that position.

    Gregg?

    Nick Johnson?

    Tolleson?

Any of the 3 would be fine by me.

I don't see a position player going because that would leave the O's with only two bench players. 13 pitchers is one thing. 14 is just too many.

Can the 60 day be retroactive to the beginning of Spring Training, or does the DL not even apply in that case?

According to roch, they wont put brob or britton on the 60 day dl, and nick johnson is starting tonight so it wont be him.

Zealous wheeler is the only guy i cant see them needing at some point this year.

I will be very irritated if the O's lose someone of even Angle/Hudson level of usefulness just so Roberts can travel with the team.

Agreed. He is three weeks from 60 days at this point.
