Bring up Miggy
Time to get at least one corner with good defense. I'll take good defense over a potential power hitter any day. I say potential because Reynolds certainly has the power but does not connect often enough to let him in because he MIGHT hit one out. Just my two cents

Do you remember Tejada on third? It wasn't pretty.

I've not been keeping track everyone's stats and injuries, but if we are clamoring for Miggy at third, I see the annual nosedive in close proximity.

He also can't hit. No thanks.

According to MLB.com, Tejada isn't even signed. I think he is just in camp for a 'workout'. Which is along way from proving he's ready to play.

Well that got shot down real quick! lol I do remember him, but don't remember him being that terrible defensively.

Fun facts:
In 2010 Tejada had a combined .947 fielding % at third base, between us and San Diego.
In 2011 Tejada had a .985 fielding % at third for the Giants (smaller sample size) and a lower F % at SS for them.
In 2011 Reynolds had a fielding percentage of .897 (just painful to type that) and in 2012 he has been even worse (.850).
The evidence seems pretty clear to me that Miggy would be a defensive upgrade for us at third. But he has to hit too..........and that's where i pretty much think this discussion ends.
Combined .692 OPS in 2010 and a .596 OPS in 2011 isn't really something we can afford to add to our lineup. I'd have to see him light it up in the minors for awhile before even thinking about bringing him up.

Of course if Reynolds continues to OPS below .700...............

I doubt Miggy's offense would be any better than Flaherty. I would hate to see Miggy called up unless it was to platoon with Flaherty.

Tejada would certainly be better than Reynolds at 3B (for that matter, I am not convinced a blindfolded monkey woudln't be an upgrade). With that said, I don't believe Tejada will be an average defender and am certain his bat has slowed enough to make his bat below average as well.
As others have said, I'd rather have Flaherty. He may not be much better (though I've liked his D at 3B so far), but at least he's young with potential.
