Satisfaction?
At what point in the season would it be considered a disappointment if we just finish above .500?
For so many seasons that has been the not so attainable goal and considered to be the first hurdle. So, if at the AS break we are 48-33 regardless of positional ranking in the Division would you still consider the season to be a success if we finish 83-79?

I'm not getting greedy here. If we finish at or above .500, even if it came after a collapse from the team playing so well, I'm not going to complain about it and will be totally satisfied.

At no point during this season will I be disappointed with the team's performance if they ultimately just finish .500.

Right now, today, May 16th, I'll be ecstatic if we finish the season over .500
Now, if at the end of September, we were still in line for a playoff spot but collapsed like the 2011 Red Sox, I may feel much differently.

If you can finish above .500 this season then you can go into the offseason knowing exactly what it will take to get into the playoffs. Here are my addtions:
Sign
Zack Greinke
Add
Dylan Bundy (At the very least the kid should get a chance to make the team out of ST, assming he continues to excel.)
Machado (If continues his improvement with the bat then I firmly believe he gets called up in September anyway but I would like him at SS next season with Hardy at 3B)
Of course I could hope for a Josh Hamilton signing but I think we will have 1 impact signing this offseason if we get over the hump.

I just want to break the streak of losing seasons.

Depends on the source of the downturn. If it is primarily due to injury or lack of performance of older guys who won't be around much longer it wouldn't be so bad. If it is primarily because of injury or lack of performance of the core guys that would be more concerning.

I will be satisfied with this season if we win more games than we lose, like Dan Duquette promised me.

I suppose if they were sitting on 75 wins on September 1 and only managed a .500 record, I might register some vague disappointment. But I'll deal with that when it happens.

I would be happy/ satisfied with a .500 finish.

I'm a bit more greedy. I want to break the string of losing seasons AND have it be the beginning of a string of multiple consecutive winning seasons (even if we didn't immediately make the playoffs) in the foreseen future.
I'd be pretty unhappy if we went 86-76 this one season, and then went back to going 66-96, 69-93, etc. in 2013 and beyond.
