    O's From The Booth 6/26 - O's Drop one to Angels 7-3.

Good evening O's fans .The O's dropped one tonight to the Angels 7-3 I am going to do things a little different than normal. Instead of going through the game recap as I am sure most of you are aware of what happened anyway. I just want to give some thoughts. Obviously Brian Matusz was not good. He looked like a minor league pitcher in a major league game. He allowed 13 hits and 5 runs in 5 innings. He really needs to be demoted. He is inconsistent, he has no command of his pitches and I do not feels the team feels any type of confidence when he is on the mound. They seriously need to think about his near future.I would like to see Brian sent down and bring Tillman up to see what he can do. Can he be any worse?? Now, on the other hand, the offense has just been terrible. They scored 5 runs in 4 games against the Nationals and lucked out to win 2 of 3. The Orioles starters are under so much pressure to be perfect right now. If they give up more than 1 run they will lose. The O's offense is just not producing right now. They are 2 for their last 41 with runners in scoring position. They truly need Markakis back in the line up. He was not tearing the cover off the ball but it will help Jones and Wieters in the middle of that line up. I think Hardy needs to drop to the 6 spot and maybe put Markakis in the 2 hole upon his return. They need to do something to jump start this offense. The Yankees are starting to open up a gap as they will now lead the O's by 4 games as they just continue towin. I am trying to stay as optimistic as possible as I truly feel this team will hit. There is just no consistency to the line up day to day due to injuries. We will see what happens but if this offense does not turn around they will be a .500 team by the all star break. Let's see if Hammel can come out tomorrow and get the O's a split in this 2 game series. Let's get this train back on track, Go O's!!!!

Yes to all of the above. Matusz I think is gone after that showing just dont see any other option. The offense is scary. It's been too long now since we scored any runs of significance and the RISP performance is dsiheartening - seems to me that is how the O's excelled early and now cant do anything to even get a run in from third

It sure is hard to think that Tillman could be worse than Matusz. But he has a good shot to prove me wrong.
