Will there be a clubhouse celebration?

After seeing some of the clubhouse celebration footage in Detroit and Washington, it occurred to me that the O's never got to celebrate after learning they made the playoffs. So as far as I know, we never got to have one.

I'm sure we will celebrate in the clubhouse if we win the AL east but what if we don't? Do we still hold a belated clubhouse celebration just for making the playoffs?

I heard Jim Hunter on the radio say the team had a celebratory toast on the plane ride to Tampa. Personally I think that is much more fitting than pouring champagne on your heads just for qualifying for a play-in game.

I could understand it for teams like the A's and O's who no one gave a chance at the beginning of the season, but the Braves' celebration was totally over the top.

This whole thing reminds me of '96/'97 when Randy Myers refused to participate in any post series celebrations. He said there was still work to do until the World Series was won.

No we will only celebrate if we win the East outright.

There was footage of the celebration on the plane after they re-boarded, led by Ayala.

I was a tiny bit disappointed that LAA lost that night. One of my first O's memories was the '96 clinching celebration, and I wanted to see it again.

Where can that footage be found?

Just as well that it was a low key celebration I guess. It sure would have been nice after 14 years of losing that there could have been something more than just a toast. But it will be all the more sweeter when we win the East or advance a round or 2.

Is it gauche to throw a parade for a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs? Probably, but I'd like to see some sort of final rally or something to properly recognize what this team accomplished, even if they don't win the World Series.

Wouldn't be the first time we've done it. The 79 and 89 teams both had parades.

Favorite part was Jones going up the aisle and shaking everyone's hand. There's not a lot going on in the footage, but maybe we'll have a chance for a bigger celebration in the future. Maybe.
