An absolute epic meltdown by the Rangers...bad news for the Orioles...

After taking a 5-1 lead, the Rangers completely fell apart giving up 7 runs including
and incredibly bad dropped pop fly( the most routine pop fly you'll ever see) by Josh
Hamilton. It looks like the Rangers are coming to Baltimrore and Yu Darvish, whom
the Orioles havent seen and is pitching great in the last month will be starting for a
hungry Rangers team. Im extremely wary of starting Joe Saunders against this
powerful and embarrased Texas team in a one and done situation. I highly question
Tillman going tonight for a long shot at a division title that isnt even assured until
ANOTHER game is played. Id TOTALLY skip Tillman tonight now, and match him up
against the free swnging Texas Rangers.
I might be wrong, but I doubt it.

Me too. No disrespect to Saunders, but starting him against the powerful Ranger offense could be a recipe for disaster.

We always seem to struggle against pitchers we never faced before.. let alone one of the best pitchers in the AL right now.

Oakland would be tough too Roy. They've been on fire lately. It's going to be tough either way it plays out. These teams all won 90+ for a reason.

Hungry? They sure don't play like it. The A's look like the hungry team to me.

Play to win at almost any cost today, imo.

I like the idea of it being Saunders if it's Oakland and Johnson if it's Texas.

This. A's appear to be on a mission.

The thing is baseball, at the end of the day is about starting pitching. And whatever of the Rangers play of late has been, were facing Darvish who is pitching extremely well and has Ace type stuff. I am worried that with a 6-7IP 3-4ER effort from Saunders, we would lose to Darvish. Maybe I'm not giving the O's enough credit, but it makes me extremely worried.

Playoff baseball. There's not going to be any more mariners, astros, or ..... red sox (hehe) on our schedule.

Even if the game is in Texas, I'd rather have Tillman than Saunders. Easily.

I am trying to understand which Ranger team Roy thinks the O's would be facing. The one that is in epic meltdown or the one that is hungry?

If the Rangers are in epic meltdown that would be good for the O's. If the Rangers are the hungry team they will come back and beat the A's and will not face the O's on Friday.
