It had to be the Yankees
Outside of a meeting in the ALCS, this is about as perfect as it gets.
Us versus them.
Good versus evil, blue collar B-More town versus the corporate suits of the big Apple, a budget comparison that needs the Grand Canyon to fully display the financial disparity and the team that seems to never quite respect us, for as long as I can remember (which is back to the early 70's).
Of course the World Series ring is the ultimate goal, but I will sleep great at night if we simply eliminate the overrated, overhyped, over-covered, mass media monsters of New York.
It had to be them. It had to be Buck. It had to be this year, our first winning season in 15-years, and I love every second of it.
Bring. It. On.

I'm in college in NY state with a bunch of Yankee fans. I don't know if I'll be able to still be friends with them if the Yankees win. I just hate to see them do well, it hurts my heart

I realize it could either way, but I am glad it is them, because every pitch, every play and win against them is so much fun. I do have one friend I respect who is a Yankee fan, but usually it is pretty easy to avoid them overall in life while wearing O's gear all the time. Of course, in your situation it is tougher being outnumbered up there, so Baltimore will just have to win, to make things easier the rest of the semester. Wins tend to end the trash talk...

Yes it did.
You fire Buck Showalter, and we come after you.

Too bad the Diamondbacks aren't in the playoffs.
Buck downplays pretty much everything and tries to pretend nothing has anything to do with him. But this is the second series in a row he's playing against his former boss. He'll never admit it but a victory would be extra sweet.
Same with Duquette's new team going 13-5 against his old team... after that last sweep he must've sat in his office for 30 minutes with the door locked and just laughed.
