    Bob Andino

Does anybody believe that he was NOT player of the game?

Without that catch, we lose. And we lose badly.

    True.

I wsh his throw to home woud have been a lot better though, that was pathetic, but the catch the play before made it sting a little less.

His play was a key contribution.
Chen is my player of the game. If he does not take the gift that Andino gave him and put that bad first inning behind him, that play would have been for nothing the way Pettite pitched. Chen stepped up huge IMO and was my player of the game

The play of the game, but not the player. That was Chen.

If Robert had been certain he caught it on the fly (I couldn't tell whether he was) and thrown to first, was there a chance of getting three? I couldn't tell.

None. Ichiro (I believe he was on first) hardly moved off the bag and was back just after Dino had flipped the ball. I actually commented on how good of a base running play it was to the person that was sitting next to me.

Another thing the lame announcers never mentioned. How far off 1st was Ichiro? In all honesty on TV I couldn't tell if he caught it. If he didn't, would have been a DP anyway and Cano still drives in Jeter.

Gtfoh. The throw was a little offline. Ichiro was dead to rights. Wieters didn't make the play, not that I fault him badly either.

Edit: never been a fan of the dancing around the plate stuff. Is he allowed to go into the stands to get a hot dog too?

The throw being a little offline made all the difference, it's not like it was a bang bang either, he had plenty of time to set his feet and make a throw. A second longer wouldn't have made a big difference, when he got the ball where he did Ichiro was about half way down the line.

In all fairness to Andino, Davis' throw from RF was also offline, and pulled Andino into foul territory. I feel like a throw in the field of play from Davis would have helped Andino to have a better angle for the relay to Wieters.

Andino was over by the foul line and that is where Davis directed his throw. Not the best, but in the general direction.
Perhaps Andino needed to be closer to the middle of first and second base ?
Andino did not need to hurry the throw, but chose to do so and made a very poor throw. Cost the team a run.
Player of the game... ehhh not so much.

Imagine what the place would have been like if they had got a triple play! I was actually surprised with the runner at 1st that there wasnt a play.

The throw was fine. If Wieters doesn't leave his feet on the first tag attempt Ichiro is out. Should have sat on plate this wasn't Russell Martin coming to the plate. Get him next time.

Andino steps it up during big games. He thrives on pressure.

Is D has been great these last two games. He's also been hitting in crucial spots. Glad to see him out there!

I think Dino takes a lot of things personally, i.e. Sux fans taunting O's players last year. I don't think he likes fans that showboat, and he steps up big time when team slike the Yanks and Sox come down. He always has this "take that" attitude. And I like it! Just my opinion.
