I'd give him a job. Not as a player, but I'd like to have him in the organization. Remember the enthusiasm he had for scouting Bundy? And he's clearly a very well respected guy around the game.

I think this is alot closer of a call. I guess Betemit blocks him, but if all things were equal and Betemit and Thome were free agents, I'd be at least tempted to go with Thome. Watching him interact with his teammates and coaches, he has good "veteranosity".
