Purely, purely hypothetical: For which players would you consider trading Bundy?

This question has no relation to any player actually being shopped by a team....for the hypothetical purposes of the question, no one is off the table.

I wouldn't bother with getting any prospects in return....for me, it would either have to be a MVP/Cy Young award winner at the top of his game, or maybe one or two years away from a MVP/Cy Young season. Perhaps Verlander, Cabrerra, David Price or someone on that level. It would have to be a proven commodity.

Just curious as to what player you would pull the trigger on Bundy if you could.

Bundy has the potential to be a 3-4 W pitcher or better, for the time we control him. What player could give us 18- 20 W over the next 6 years?

These players, provided we could sign them long-term:

    Stanton
    Kershaw
    McCutcheon
    Posey
    Trout
    Price

There are probably a few others...but these are off the top of my head.

I probably wouldn't trade him for two years of Verlander or three years of Miguel Cabrera. If I had more confidence in ownership maintaining high payroll I would, but I fear it would close the window to compete at the end of Verlander or Cabrera's contracts. That isn't to say that those players have less value than Bundy, just that it is specific to the Orioles situation.

Those two guys from the Nats would look nice in Orange. Sterlin Castro would be a close call and think i would be it be close. Maybe Ryan Braun as well but depneds if you taking in cost to it.

    This one is easy. NONE!

To quote the Earl of Baltimore.......

Nobody likes to hear it, because it's dull, but the reason you win or lose is darn near always the same - pitching.

The answers to this thread will be few and far between because people disregard the fact that Bundy is a prospect (albeit a great one) and unproven. If we're being realistic, then people would list players like J.Upton, F. Freeman, etc. Basically any stud offensive prospect (or current MLB player) under the age of 25 would be a legitimate offer for Bundy.

I would trade Bundy for a bunch of players IF I thought that the return would put us oover the top. If the payroll is going to stay at $100M than I am not sure that dealing Bundy sense unless you do it for a young talent that is controlled IMO.

If payroll was not a concern there would be numerous players I would trade him for. Most of those players would be true MOO bats.

Freddie Freeman? I like Freeman, he is a good young first baseman but he would have to take a huge step forward to be worth as much as Bundy. His upside is limited by his position and he only has 4 years left of team control as opposed to 6+.

It wouldn't really make sense. We already have a couple high-ceiling type shortstops.

Trout, Stanton, or Kershaw- but only if we could work out a long-term extension prior to the trade.

    Thaaaat's about it.

Stanton is one of the few I would even contemplate. Bundy and Gausman can have us so good for so long I just don't think I would trade them. The risk of Bundy being a bust is worth the upside/reward imho.
