not verbatim, but:
1) Offseason so far follows the Orioles of the recent past
2) O's didn't want Reynolds, in his opinion
3) O's missing a consistent MOO bat, Davis (and Reynolds) are too streaky to fit. Davis a good #6 hitter in a good lineup and has top of the line power
For starters

Ken - "So who will be the opening day 2nd baseman in 2013"
Tony - "Well I can tell you who it won't be, and that is Brian Roberts. He is done. No bat speed, 25th man at best on your roster. I don't see a major league player anymore."

Anytime and thanks for the link!
It was a good interview, Tony has a good voice for radio and I imagine would do well on air. For the length of the segment, his responses were well communicated with good content. Now back to the payroll questions?)

Well I take no satisfaction out of saying it. I hope Roberts proves me and many others wrong, but I just don't see it. Unfortunately, Roberts has become an albatross to this team. If the Orioles don't add anyone else, he will be the second highest paid Oriole and he hasn't performed well since that first season after signing his big contract. If you take away Roberts contract, there is no reason why the Orioles can't afford Hamilton.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. Tell you what though, I drew a mental block on Alexi Casilla when they asked me the question about second base. He'll be in that competition as well obviously although I think the Orioles would like to see Flaherty show he could play there everyday defensively. He appears to be playing there in the Dominican Winter League so I'm sure the Orioles will be watching his progress closely.

Nice interview, Tony. I agree on the upside of Flaherty and was pumped to hear you talk about him, but I disagreed a little on Roberts. I can't help but think with a full off-season to work out and lift weights and not have to worry about the concussion, that he'll be a better option than Casilla or Flaherty out of the gate. Brian will still see a lot of pitches and is still one of the smarter hitters on the team. We'll see. It's certainly extremely possible that Roberts does not start at 2B, but if he's healthy, I think he'll be given the shot for a month or two.
