Dariel Alvarez?

I saw Alvarez mentioned on the CBS site. He apparently is a Cuban defector who has been declared to be an international free agent.

I did a search for him and saw that his batting stats have gotten better as he has gotten older and had more at-bats. The article that had the stats mentioned that his stats are impressive IF he is only 24 years old and IF the stats are accurate.

He supposedly has a good arm and is only an average runner at best.

He is going to be available for teams to watch in January.

Does anyone think the O's might be interested in him? The sticking ppoint for the O's might be whether or not they could get this guy into the U.S. before Urrutia.
