Autographed Eddie Murray Jersey
I have the opportunity to buy an autographed and framed Eddie Murray "500/3000" jersey with a certificate of authenticity and I'm wondering what it might be worth. I've done some searches and it looks like I can get it for a reasonable price. I just want to be sure before I fork out a few hundred dollars. I'm not sure that eBay auctions are the best gauge of true value.
If anyone has any idea what it could be worth or has a good place for me to check on prices I'd greatly appreciate it.

I would say anywhere anywhere from $300 to $700 depending on how nice the framing is and the quality of the signature. Also is it an official jersey and it wouldn`t happen to game use would it? If it is game used then obviously a ton more.

eBay auctions are a perfect guide to an items value. What you get is what someone is willing to pay. True market approach.

Looks like a decent frame. I'm pretty sure it's not game worn. Sure doesn't look like it. I can get it for just under $300, so I think it's a good deal regardless.
The problem I have with eBay is that people sell things for all kinds of extremes of prices. I also don't think there are great comps in my particular case. In general I agree with you though.

The value largest rests on who authenticated it, plain and simple. If it is PSA, UDA or JSA, 300 is a no brainer for the price point you mentioned. If it is a lesser know shop, much less. You can always get authenticated yourself by PSA or JSA, but there is work involved with that as well.
Good luck.

I work in the sports memorabilia auction industry and items such as this typically sell in the $300-400 range. It's not a simple case of Autograph + Framing + Authentication + Jersey. Our bidders usually consider the autograph scarcity (Eddie is great, but not rare or particularly desirable among Hall of Fame collectors), whether the autograph has an inscription, the quality of the autograph and if it is authenticated. Framing is completely ancillary and actually hinders some bidding. As an Orioles fan, this is an awesome piece. But I wouldn't pay more than $300 for it.

In my nearly 30 years in the hobby I have handled several thousand Murray autographs. That signature is good.
