While in the Dominican Republic, O's worked out utilityman Fernando Tatis. No stone left unturned for DD.

Oh man. Rhodes is one thing, but Tatis stunk the last time he was here, and that was what, 5, 7 years ago?

Is Geritol on the banned substance list. If so we might be in trouble.

Last season DD signed Moyer, Tejada and Willis just to see if anything was there. Are you saying you object to paying pennies just to have a peek at someone? Or would you prefer DD to push back from the table and say "nope... he's probably still bad, let's just stand pat here"?

If he is signed I think we will have reached a new low in terms of searching for scraps.

I never can understand why some people get upset over the Orioles working a guy out or signing them to minor league contracts. I think Tatis has less than a 1% chance of ever playing for the Orioles again but I could care less if they work him out or sign him to a minor league contract. Kick the tires, see what's in the tank, but at the end of the day, Duquette has shown he's willing to look but he doesn't get bogged down with guarantees of any kind. Not sure how this can be looked upon as a bad thing or something to get too worked up over either way.

I just think there are some here, and I must admit, we are in the minority, that think we'd like to see a little less emphasis on players with "less than 1% chance of ever playing for the Orioles" (and now its Arthur Rhodes!) and more emphasis on players who will actually improve the team. But I get it....those guys cost real money and not the handful of dollars they throw away on these players from yesteryear.

Wow, it would be interesting if someone did a thread suggesting who DD should re-visit. If nothing else it might be good for laughs.
Here's a few for example"
Sidney Ponson
Curt Ainsworth
Damien Moss
Larry Bigbie
GMATTJr
Jack Cust
Eric Byrnes
trying to think of the young pitching prospect we got a few years back I believe in a trade for Jeff Connine who made his debut against the Yankees I believe. I think we then traded him for a reliever. Cannot think of his name to save me.
