The offseason is a bit of a failure... not able to add a MOO bat. We have a lot of young talent on pitching side e.g. Britton. Wouldn't be surprised to see Matusz be a 2-3 innings bullpen guy. Steve Johnson may get a look as #5 starter. Davis a lock at first base. Second base going to be very interesting battle - Roberts, Casilla (odds on favorite), Flaherty. Schoop may be a factor in second half. Buck likes to go L-R-L-R in lineup. Likes McLouth at lead-off (speed) and Markakis as 2.

Kind of basic in the information. Wish there would have been some better questions asked or different things dug into.

They are quick spots, but I think they covered some of the bigger issues for this time of year. I'll be happy to answer anything else you may have questions on.

Yeah, I guess most people dont spend half their work day on here discussing deeper issues. I am interested in what you may think will transpire trade wise between now and breaking camp. There is still time to do things, and things were done last year, but there doesnt seem to be much talk on anything going foward on the trade front.

I'd be surprised if anything is done over the next few weeks just because teams are now preparing to head to camp and teams want to see what they got. The best chance of something going down will be about 2-3 weeks into a spring games. I could see a guy like Patton, Hunter, Ayala or Strop being moved towards the end of spring training depending on team needs.

I can see that, thanks for getting back to me! I just see us as having some pieces and it would be nice to move some to improve the team, but then again we could just hang on to what we have as depth.

Hey Tony, I'm wondering if you've got a feeling for, or heard any rumblings about, Matusz's role--is there every intention for him to compete for a starter's spot, or is that just PR-like lip service when it comes down to it?
