2013 GTP: Brian Matusz
He was effective against left-handers, but ended up a LOOGY due to his struggles against right-handers.

All we can do is grade Brian on how he performed when utilized. Can't criticize him for the role in which Buck pegged him because he did that exceedingly well.
For all the talk of how Brian struggled against RHBs, he only allowed a .747 OPS which was largely fueled by an unsustainable .368 BABiP. After all, he only allowed 1 measly HR against RHBs in 2013.
Overall, I am disappointed that Brian has not become a TOR like we hoped from in the #4 pick. However, from the standpoint of this grading exercise, I don't see how anyone can give him less than a B.

Getting out Big Papi with regularity isn't enough for me to give him a C.
The ability is there to be better then he is.

D. Can't get RH out. Is nothing more than a LOOGY because of it. What happened to the changeup?

It's kind of strange how our guys suddenly lose pitches as they go along. I guess you could include Britton's sinker, but that is mostly due to a lack of command.
