Ummmm....may I present you with the Baseball reference player of the day:

o

(SEPTEMBER 14th)

Markakis has 82 RBI's, 37 doubles, and 11 home runs, with 3 weeks still left in the season.

That makes me happy! He's up to 12 homers and 86 rbi now. OBP, .347. More than solid numbers right there.

Next year he will pass 2,000 hits. There's only 278 players in the history of the game who have done this. I think Nick will at the very least reach the 2500 hit club.

I am happy that Nick is having a productive season, but sad that he's playing on such a terrible team.

The last weekend of the year, the Braves play host to Detroit. Those games could have some relevance to the wild card race. Maybe Nick will find a way to help the Orioles lock down a playoff spot.

Jay was looking a little metro. Interesting look. Parrish looks huge.

My favorite story from the Spanish website is this one. Speaking of ex-O's...

PITTSBURGH - Rookie Jacob Stallings hit an RBI single in the inning as a pinch eleventh, and beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-5 on Friday Washington Nationals, who failed to secure their playoff berth yet.

Pittsburgh loaded the bases with one out against Venezuelan Yusmeiro Petit (3-5) when his compatriot Francisco Cervelli hit a double, Andrew McCutchen was intentionally walked and Pedro Florim?n negotiated walked.
