Yes. The players play hard because it's their life. But the fact that nobody cares about winning kind of invalidates the whole concept of a league.

Why do you think I walk to City Island so often I see a lot of AA baseball.

Even the independent leagues are a bit like WWE with multiple teams being owned by the same group. I occasionally wonder how they decide to bestow the titles.

It's dicey. I do understand some of these leagues, at least at the beginning, are trying to keep one rich guy from dominating and keeping the others from establishing a base, torpedoing the viability of the whole thing.

I can only imagine Lombardozzi was not making the Tigers roster. Otherwise the trade makes no sense to me to this day. Lombo can play shortstop in a pinch.

They needed someone to take it over for an extended period of time. Lombo doesn't look to have the arm to do that.
