Padres messed up holding on to him for so long, but putting that aside, I think they've done real well for themselves with the two moves they have made this week.

This move doesn't move the needle. I don't think Solarte is much of anything, I don't know anything about DePaula.

It's possible he'll have a Soriano-like resurgence for the rest of the year, but I don't see this move making a big impact.

At least the Padres got those 3.5 years of .450 ball out of his prime. What a sad franchise. If some of our more reactionary posters were Padres fans, I imagine they would be apoplectic.

Since the Yankees will be out of this in 10 days and Tankaka is having his surgery, what makes you think that they can win anything that deprives them of their number four prospect?

De finite is always more understandable that the in finite.

I don't think he is a top 100 guy anymore he was when they thought he was 17 when they signed him not 20. Since then he has not been anything special and has been awrul this season in A ball and 23.

I would say this is Flaherty and Hobgood comp. Solarte was nothing special at all.
