Meh...Is he an upgrade anywhere?

He's decently effective against right-handers (.247/.360/.405/.765) but like others have said, I don't see him as an upgrade anywhere.

He's also pretty slow on the base-paths. I suspect that the Orioles do not want to acquire another slow player for the squad in 2015, unless he has at least one or two other HUGE upsides .... which I don't believe that Davis has.

I sure hope we do. Good OBP guy who can play as part of a DH platoon if Cruz leaves.

Ike Davis is a good OBP guy? I guess it's ok, .336 for his career. But for a first baseman with Nick Markakis' power the last couple years? The O's already have a first baseman trying to have a comeback season. I'm not sure two does anything for them.

I doubt it'll take anything more than a minor league deal or almost minimum contract to get him on board. I'd give him a chance, since he'd have more potential than most of those depth signings that Duquette does.
