I was watching MLBN last night and they had a show on about the top 40 moments in LCS history. The Orioles have played in 10 ALCS and only got mentioned once and that was the Jeffery Maier game. What are your top Orioles ALCS moments?

Good Memories:

1979 ALCS Game 1 - John Lowenstein's 10th inning home run.

1979 ALCS Game 4 - Doug DeCinces grabs Jimmy Anderson's shot down the line keeping Angels off the board.

1983 ALCS Game 2 - Mike Boddicker's masterpiece.

1983 ALCS Game 4 - Tito Landrum 10th inning home run.

1997 ALCS Game 1 - Brady Anderson's lead off home run.

Bad Memories:

1979 ALCS Game 3 - Angels come from behind win.

1983 ALCS Game 1 - Lamar Hoyt's masterpiece.

1996 ALCS Game 2 - Jeffrey Maier

1997 ALCS Game 6 - Tony Fernandez 12th inning home run.

2014 ALCS All Games - Herrea -Davis - Holland

Mike Mussina's 15 K performance in Game 3 of the 1997 ALCS was one of the most dominating performances I'd ever seen from a pitcher then and now, and the scary part was he was just as good in Game 6 with the season on the line. Of course they lost both games, but it was no fault of Mussina.

1974 A.L.C.S., Game Four

It was an afternoon game, and in Garden Street School (my elementary school), they would let us watch the postseason baseball games while school was in session.

Even though the Orioles lost, I was so proud while I was sitting in front of the TV in the classroom, being the only Oriole fan in the class that was watching his team in the postseason.

1969 Game 1 - Os win 4-3 over the Twins in 12 innings on Paul Blair's 2 out bunt single. Powell homered in last of ninth to tie the game. F Robinson and Belanger (yes Belanger) also homered earlier.

1969 Game 2 - Os win 1-0 in 11 innings. A complete game, 3-hit, shutout by McNally.

I was at both games and called Blair's bunt before it happened.

Mark Belanger has the claim to fame for being the first player to hit a home run in the ALCS.

Didn't Rick Dempsey play on that Twins team?

Yep, Dempsey had a brief cup of coffee with both the '69 and '70 Twins, although he didn't play in either ALCS against the Orioles.
