I think Desmond is as good as gone (despite what they're saying). The writing was on the wall when they traded for Escobar. What I can't figure out is why they're so hell bent on trading Zimmerman. His name has been off and on the block for the last year. Having watched him pitch several times, I just don't get it. He's good. Very good.

Zimmermann has rebuffed all attempts by the Nationals to sign him long term. He seems pretty intent to test the market. The Nars want to deal him while his value is high. Rizzo is pretty smart.
