I think we're a contender. For the 3rd straight year.

Like almost all contenders, we need more things to go our way than against us. Obviously no contender could withstand a rash of starting pitcher injuries like the Yankees had last year. We need Wieters and Machado to be healthy. We probably need to make the correct July 31 moves again. The bullpen has to be good again (and that is never a given, they can fluctuate significantly from year to year).

I think our chances of winning the division are 35-40%, which are better odds than I'd give to any of the other AL East teams. I expect a tight race.
