That was a masterpiece of hitting by De Aza, working on a 10+ pitch at bat.

Roch wrote this today and very good tidbit:

Pearce is the 14th player in club history to homer in his first two games of the season. It's happened in each of the last four seasons, including Nick Markakis in 2012, Davis in 2013 and Nelson Cruz in 2014. Davis homered in four straight games.

It's very nice to see Davis's bat picking up. He had at least a double robbed by a wonderful play in the OF on opening day.

He's going to be the biggest key to the offense this year; if he can be the left handed MOO bat, everything else falls into place.
