So will it be Wilson or McFarland that gets sent down today? I imagine it will be Wilson, but then who starts on Thursday? Steve Johnson?

Awesome. I think he could be a real asset to the pen long term. Especially with our impending FA.

This is a nice story from February of 2014, from the O.P. of CharmCityHokie:

Here is an evaluation of Drake from Tony Pente, several months before the aforementioned article from February of 2014:

After a stellar 2011, Oliver Drake was considered one of the organization's top pitching prospects, and has subsequently earned a 40-man roster spot. However, after having had undergone shoulder surgery in August of 2012, Drake dropped off the radar a bit, and also was taken off of the Orioels 40-man roster.

The primary focus of Drake's 2013 season was his health and recovery from the surgery, and his move to the bullpen seems to have suited him well. Although Drake's fastball was languishing from 90-91 MPH in July, it (his fastball ran) all the way up to 94-95 MPH with better command and consistency as the season progressed.

Drake's splitter continues to stay low in the zone, and it is difficult for hitters to square up on when located properly.

The 2013 season has to be considered a victory for Drake, due to him remaining healthy after the surgery, and the fact that he was able to regain velocity. Being that he will be a 27 year-old next season (2014), Drake is getting long in the tooth ...... he really needs to have an outstanding year in the minors and for the Orioles to have any need to see him in big leagues next year. We have to imagine that he will at least be given an opportunity at AAA-Norfolk next year, and if he maintains his fastball velocity, he could be an asset to the Orioles' bullpen at some point.
