Baysox Win the Pennant

Eastern League Championship Series starts Tuesday.

David Hess with a 3-0 Victory. Triggs with the save. Yastrzemski and Latimore with home runs.

Hess pitched seven innings with one hit. He was just drafted last year.

The Baysox' offense scored 28 runs in the 4 games of their playoff series with AA-Altoona.

GAME 1: O 7-8

GAME 2: O 7-0

GAME 3: O 11-3

GAME 4: O 3-0

I know it's probably because I just don't understand, but I think it's great that a team within a barren farm system can win.

How is it the "pennant?"

They already won the division title in the regular season. This was the equivalent of winning the ALDS.

Still, I'm happy about their accomplishment.

The best pitcher on the team (Joe Gunkel) was the main reason why the Baysox lost a game in this series.

He was given a 7-0 lead in the 2nd inning of Game One and failed to protect it, getting knocked out of the box for 5 runs in only 4.67 innings.

I suspect that he'll do better in the Eastern League championship series.

Gunkel was better, but he wasn't good enough.

3 runs in 6-Plus innings, and the Baysox again lost the 1st game of a playoff series. Gunkel again got the "L."

Once again, veteran journeyman Additon pitched a very good game, and led the Baysox to a Game Two playoff series victory after Joe Gunkel had taken the loss in the Opener ........ just like what happened last week against AA-Altoona in the Eastern League Semifinals.
