Devastating. He was throwing from a mound just a few weeks ago.

Rest in peace, Tommy.

Really sad for the family. Article says his younger brother previously died tragically.

Richard Hawk, the Coweta County coroner, told USA TODAY Sports that Hanson’s death is “still under investigation” and that it would be “two or three days” before findings are released.

Late Tuesday afternoon, WSB-TV and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said an initial police report listed “overdose” as a possible crime, but offered no further specifics. WSB reported that Hanson was comatose Sunday and then suffered “catastrophic organ failure.”

Hanson wasn't breathing when emergency crews tried to help him Sunday at a friend's home near Atlanta, Coweta County sheriff's officials wrote in their initial report. They typed "overdose" in a small section titled "crime incident."

Sheriff's officials said in a statement Wednesday that an officer was part of a conversation with hospital emergency room workers, but it doesn't describe the conversation, nor does it indicate what Hanson might have overdosed on.

Yeah, shame.
