Not a good sign when your nickname is Kung Fu Panda. Maybe he can get Master Shifu to show him the way.

OMG... This is outrageous! MLB's Achilles heel... No salary cap.

You'd find it less outrageous if the Red Sox' ownership group just pocketed the money? Or used it to improve the team's facilites, organization, infrastructure, and international signings? I prefer they use their cash to heavily invest in past-peak players at peak rates.

I like this move for the Red Sox. They were 4th in the AL in runs scored last year, with a bunch of young players who will only get better, but they had gaping holes in their starting pitching. Price gives them a true ace who not only wins games, but eats a ton of innings. I see no reason at all why they shouldn't be a serious playoff contender in 2016.

Yes, I think the back end of the deal will come back to bite them. If they're lucky, Price will have three good years, opt out of his deal, and they'll be smart enough to move on.

I'm really hoping he has CC Sabathia as a mentor.

I'm really hoping he has CC Sabathia as a mentor.

Sabathia is the obvious comp -- tall, lefty innings eater who can combine good velocity with some good secondary pitches. To state the obvious, Sabathia has 75 pounds on Price and that may have contributed to his body breaking down. Even so, he led the Yankees to a World Series title and was a true ace for four seasons before he started to lose it.
