UMD's top two recruits expected to flip to Ohio State

QB Dwayne Haskins and linebacker Keandre Jones are both expected to flip to Ohio State today.

This would be a massive blow to the Terps. There's been so much positive momentum for the football program lately with the new coaching hires, new facilities upcoming and excellent recruiting class. Dwayne Haskins was a huge part of that momentum.

Maryland has apparently already begun recruiting other QBs.

Another brilliant move by Anderson. Unless you were bringing in Chip Kelly, why change horses midstream and lose program builders like this? Plain TDM (Total Dumb Management).

I'd rather not have Haskins if it meant I had to keep Edsall he was one of the worst football coaches in the nation. He reminded me of the Bob Wade era in UMD Hoops

Haskins decision had nothing to do with Edsall. It was because Locksley is likely leaving because of Durkin's hiring. Haskins was a Locksley guy; not an Edsall guy.

If Edsall stayed, Locksley is still here. So, basically same thing, Edsall had to go and a lot of Locksley's recruits are probably moving on.. Nature of the business

No recruit is bigger than the program. You don't continue with a lame duck, bad coach, because it allows you to keep a recruit. If a move is going to be made, it should be made.

And it's not like Haskins was some generational talent. Yeah, he was a 4 star recruit. But he wasn't regarded as being the best QB recruit in years. The Beano Cooks (RIP) of the world aren't saying he was going to win 2 to 3 Heismans. This looks bad in terms of "The Movement," but not because MD lost the kind of talent that won't come around again for years.

So in other words these two kids don't want to play? They would rather sit on OSU's bench? If they aren't on board with what is going on at Md then so be it.

I agree with this post! This may have been a poor move on Haskins part. He was almost guaranteed to start for Maryland. But with OSU depending on who they decide to go with. He may not get to start for a year or two. But on the other hand I doubt he would have made the move without assurances.

Tomorrow is National Signing Day. Looks like the Terps are going to grab Tyrrell Pigrome, a 3 star QB from Alabama:

Would be a nice addition after losing Haskins.

The Terps are also in the mix for 4 star DE Terrell Hall, though Alabama is the heavy favorite.
