Baltimore Orioles (9-4, 1st +2.5) vs. Toronto Blue Jays (8-8, T-2nd -2.5)

Streak / L10

BAL: +1, Lost 4 of 6

TOR: -1, Won 3 of 4

Game 3 (7:05)

(QS=0)Chris Tillman (1-1) 5.11 (1.30/.277), 11/3 (1HR)

vs.

(QS=1)Marco Estrada (1-1) 2.77 (1.23/.260), 11/3 (1HR)

Chris Tillman: Hoo-boy. This isn't lining up to be a pretty game to watch. Tillman has been awful against Toronto especially last season with an ERA in quadruple digits in six starts and a WHIP just north of two with 10 home runs allowed. Everyone in Toronto's lineup except Justin Smoak crushes Tillman. I know everyone had high hopes for Tillman after his first two innings of the season, but he looked more like last year's Tillman in his last start. He has yet to get to 90 pitches in either of his two full starts and gave up six runs in 5.1 innings against Texas in the last one allowing 10 baserunners.

Russell Martin 4/8, 2B, RBI, 3BB

Chris Colabello 3/8, RBI

Troy Tulowitzki 1/2, HR, 2RBI

Marco Estrada: Estrada has one QS to his credit in two starts so far. He went six innings in his his last start allowing eight hits and four runs on 96 pitches. His first was seven scoreless on five hits and two walks. Both starts were against Boston and the worse of the two was on the road at Fenway. Estrada has done well against the Orioles so long as he is pitching in Toronto. At Camden Yards, the ERA is way up mostly due to the four home runs despite the microscopic WHIP and pedestrian BAA. Ryan Flaherty has two hits against Estrada and both were home runs leading to five RBI. He also has a couple walks, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Flaherty in the lineup in this one.

The Orioles pulled out game two with a bit of luck in the 10th inning on the wild pitch saving us from having to actually get a base hit to score a runner which was probably a good thing. Jimenez barely made it through five innings and the Orioles did not tack on any runs after the first inning until Toronto gave them a run in the 10th for the win. Not all that encouraging as far as wins go, but it gives us a chance to get the series win tomorrow. Considering it's Tillman going for us and it's the Jays he will face, it doesn't look good on paper. The Orioles extend their early division lead back to 2.5 games over Toronto and Boston who are once again tied for second with TB 3.5 back and the Yankees in the basement four games out on a two game skid.
