Mark Belanger Documentary

It sounds interesting but I had to chuckle at the part where he says Mark Belanger has a better lifetime fielding% than Derek Jeter. Not exactly the highest praise since Jeter has been bashed for his lack of fielding ability.

Belanger may have not been the best hitter but he did have some clutch hits and hit Nolan Ryan hard during his career.

A guy from Belanger's hometown of Pittsfield, MA is doing a documentary on Belanger.

He's looking for funding, but he's posted a trailer at his site with some good highlights and stuff. Worth watching ......

He slugged 271 against Ryan.

That is the exact opposite of hitting him hard.

He did however have a 367 OBP against Ryan, to go along with a 250 BA.

So you could say he walked Nolan Ryan hard during his career.

The guy who Belanger hit hard was Goose Gossage: .421/.542/.579 in 25 plate appearances.

Was it Goose that Belanger hit a LF foul pole home run off in the late 70s / early 80s?

Pretty sure I remember it was vs the Yankees.

He occasionally went a year or two between home runs, so the ones he hit still stick in my mind.
