Baltimore Orioles (18-12, T-1st, +2.5) @ Minnesota Twins (8-23, 5th -13.5)

Streak / L10

BAL: +2, Won 4 of 6 / L10: 6-4

MIN: -5, Lost 6 of 7 / L10: 1-9

Game 2 (8:10)

(QS=2)Kevin Gausman (0-1) 1.42 (0.68/.152), 14/3 (1HR)

vs.

(QS=0)Jose Berrios (1-1) 6.75 (1.71/.257), 5/2 (2HR)

Kevin Gausman: Gausman has allowed only three earned in his three starts thus far with his best coming in his last against the Yankees. He threw eight innings of three hit ball and didn't walk anyone, but remains winless despite his best efforts. His one start at Discount Retailer Field was horrible and his numbers against the Twins in three starts are just as bad. Despite the low WHIP/BAA, he has allowed 13 earned in 18 innings against the Twins. He does have 19Ks, though. Mauer and Sano have done the most damage against him, but this seems to be a new Kevin Gausman and this Twins team is certainly not what it was when his starts were made.

Jose Berrios: Berrios will make his third career start in this one and probably isn't thrilled about the team he's facing. Berrios is having a lot of trouble with lefties which could mean we see more of Alvarez and Kim in the Orioles lineup. Berrios is not having trouble striking people out as he has 13 of them in 9.1 innings, but also has seven walks. His one start at Discount Retailer Field wasn't a good one, but his road start was solid. Still, it looks like the Orioles are going to have chances against Berrios in this one.

Well, game one was rained out and I apparently had the pitchers wrong as Tillman was going to start instead of Wilson. Sometimes, I just can't keep up with the last minute changes; either that or I just missed something. MLB.com had Wilson / Berrios (and still has them), but oh well. I get them wrong sometimes, but hopefully this one isn't wrong. Berrios will still go, but will face KG instead. It doesn't look good for the Twins in this one unless Berrios can surprise and the offense can manage to get to Gausman. This rainout really sucks since these were three games the Orioles had a very good chance to win and come away with a sweep, but now we only get two. It would suck to lose to this team right now, but the Twins could surprise.. I guess?

Boston has won two in a row again and have pulled back even with the Orioles for first place with a 2.5 game lead over TB. The Rays and Jays are currently playing their games, but TB has won four in a row and have pulled into third ahead of Toronto who has lost two straight and sit 3.5 back. The Yankees remain six back in last place. At this time, there is no score in the TB/SEA game and Toronto leads SF 3-0 with both games in the bottom of the third. In the Central, the Twins could fall back further (as if it matters at this point) depending on what the White Sox do as they are currently in a 4-4 tie against Texas in the bottom of the 10th.

Checked intelllicast.com and nasty front bearing down.

The stuff to the west doesn't look to be moving all that fast and should take a couple hours to get to MN if it holds together. The stuff to the east doesn't seem to be a threat either. Should get this one in.
