Mike Wright: Wright had two quality starts in April and went at least six innings in three of his four starts, but has not gotten off to a good start in May. He allowed five runs on 10 hits and two walks in five innings against Oakland in his last start. The Tigers have only seen him for one inning, but lefties are hitting almost .400 off of Wright which is something that will hopefully improve.

Anibal Sanchez: Sanchez did not get through six innings once in five April starts, but allowed only two runs in three of them. In two May starts, Sanchez has gone six and seven innings, but allowed four runs in both starts. Sanchez has walked at least three batters in all but two of his starts including allowing seven walks in his final April start and three walks in each of his two May starts. He has struggled pitching from the stretch reflected by his numbers with guys on base. Sanchez has not fared well against the Orioles and even worse at Camden Yards with Pedro Alvarez having four extra base hits in 15 AB's including two homers and six RBI. Joseph, who is hot now, is also 2/3 with three RBIs and a homer. Wheat hits him well too, though. No telling who will get the nod behind the plate for the O's here, but it doesn't seem like we could go wrong either way. SSS, though.

Tillman has been brilliant so far this season. There's nothing else to say about that one as he was dominant against the Tigers tonight and despite throwing a complete game, Verlander suffers his first career loss at Camden Yards and it was a game he really didn't deserve to lose. The Tigers couldn't hit a chair with their asses at this point and the Orioles come away with their sixth straight win.

Game three looks like it could be a high scoring game. Mike Wright has had no answer for left handed hitters this season and Anibal Sanchez has not been good when he is forced to pitch from the stretch. Actually, he hasn't been good at all really until his last two starts and even when he is able to go 6-7 innings, he can't keep the runs under four.

In the division, it finally happened; Boston lost a game by one run to Houston and the Orioles have finally reclaimed sole possession of first place as they have been fortunate enough to face three teams in a row that are offensively challenged AND were in the middle of horrendous losing streaks. The Orioles have been fortunate indeed, but these are teams we should be beating and the Orioles are delivering. Toronto was the only other team to win today with TB losing their fourth in a row and the Yankees dropping one to the White Sox who are dominating the Central thoroughly at this time sitting five games up on second place Cleveland. Those poor Twins lost their eighth in a row today despite two home runs from Byung-ho Park in back to back innings off Josh Tomlin.

Great to see Kim making an appearance here. I hope he can hit something real hard tonight and Sanchez seems like a good matchup for him. Alvarez at third is pretty scary, but it's really Flaherty's fault. He does well enough

with the glove, but he can't hit ML pitching. He tears it up in spring training and in Norfolk, but can't do crap when he's with the Orioles. However, I would much rather see Janish at short and Machado at third as

opposed to putting a liability like Alvarez at the hot corner. I imagine Kim is going to need a mop out in left to clean up all the stuff Alvarez can't make plays on.
