I will ride Ubaldo's contract out. Or trade Sisco or Hess to get rid of him. Please don't make me sell all of our minor leaguers to get rid of Shields next season.

Pitching is at a sky high premium right now. Draft picks and pitching prospects have more valuable.

Right this minute, I am very glad that we did not acquire Shields.

I might have liked it if Duquette had acquired him 3 weeks ago, so I'm glad that I did not get my way.

I wouldn't take Shields even for free. In his most recent start, he got knocked out in the 2nd inning. That's 3 shellackings in a row. His ERA is something like 21.00. Thanks the baseball gods that the White Sox got him and not the Orioles. Now the Sox have a multi-million dollar mop-up man.
