Mike Wright

(3-3)

5.14 (1.41/.282)

40K / 18BB, 9HR

QS: 3

</b></b>

The good news is Wright is coming off his best start of the season. The bad news is it was against KC which means nothing can really be gleaned from it as far as Wright's ability. Toronto has destroyed him for his career especially at Canadian Communications and Media Company Centre and he still has no answer for lefties either.

J.A. Happ

(6-3)

3.57 (1.19/.238)

48K / 24BB, 9HR

QS: 9

In his 12 starts, Happ has allowed three runs or less in all but two of them good for nine quality starts. Happ's numbers are really inflated by only two starts. He allowed eight runs in two innings against the Rays and allowed six in five innings against the Tigers in his last start. Other than that, Happ has been outstanding. He posted a 2.76 ERA in April and a 3.32 in May.

Adam Jones (25 AB) .280, 2B, HR, RBI

Pedro Alvarez 3/7, 2B, 2BB

Chris Davis 1/6, 2B, RBI

Matt Wieters 1/5, S-HR, 2BB

Nolan Reimold 0/2

Mark Trumbo 0/2

We were able to score three off of Estrada, but were not able to tack anything on after that as our offense cooled off a bit this game and were shut down by the Toronto bullpen. Encarnacion comes through in the 10th with the walk off against Brach to snap the Orioles' winning streak at five games. We are now sending our two worst pitchers to the mound in the final two games of this series which does not give me much comfort going forward. Due to the unearned run in the first inning which really shouldn't be since Gausman committed the error, he allows only two earned good for the QS.

Aside from two starts, Happ has been very good for Toronto just as Estrada has been though not quite THAT good. Still, very good nonetheless while we will be sending Mike Wright to the hill who Toronto has just loved pounding the crap out of so far in his young career. It's just ugly.

With Baltimore's loss and Boston up 8-1 on the Twins in the ninth, the gap will be closed to one game and Toronto pulls back to within 4.5. The Yankees continue to be red hot as they have won five in a row and seven of 10 sitting 5.5 games back as well. Most games in the Central are still being played with KC down 7-5 in the eighth against the White Sox and Cleveland up 6-1 against the Angels in the second inning. In the West, Texas and Seattle are squaring off again and are tied 1-1 in the third as the M's look to get back in it with Texas, but are currently four games back of them. Houston has cooled off after getting beat by Texas and losing tonight to the Rays and are back to 9.5 games back.

You know, Buck did say he was going to Bench Kim if his average went under .350...

He's hitting .349 on the season...

Joey actually needs to play some. He is in a role he should be in.

I do wonder if Buck will start giving him chances vs lefties.

That was part of my overarching Buck hates Kim shtick.

Like when Buck pulled him out of the scrum and I said it was because Buck didn't want him participating in a team building exercise.
