Wilson is coming off his best start by far throwing eight shutout innings against Boston. It was a hell of a start with a lot of luck, but it was great timing and a strong performance. Still, I don't think this will ultimately be anything more than an occasional showing. He will surely be tested against this Texas team, that's for sure. He has allowed five runs in two of the last three, so it's going to take more than one start to change the horrible tide he's been riding for the last month. Hopefully, he'll get another one here.

As Starter (15.1 IP): (1-2) 7.64 (2.03), 2HR

Perdomo is a rookie that has not done well so far at all for the Padres. He started in the bullpen and did poorly there and is now being used as a starter and he's not doing well there either though he is better than he was as a reliever. The Orioles have no excuses to be shut down by this guy, but then again this is baseball and crazy stuff happens. Perdomo can't really be blamed for his performance as he was promoted from A+ ball to the majors this season and he wasn't really lighting the world on fire there. What a jump that is, so it's no wonder he is struggling so badly.

Well, the Orioles lose to a much better Texas team as once again, Kevin Gausman just can't hold a three run lead and gives up four runs which ends up being the final score. Fortunately, we now welcome the Padres into town for two games at home. I really hate these two game series and I think they are really stupid. There is rain in the forecast tomorrow all day, so this game may not even get played. Keep an eye on the weather. The Padres are coming off a split with the NL East leading Nationals having won the last two games of their four game series, so they are probably feeling pretty good about themselves. Well, as much as can be expected for a fifth place team.

Poor Luis Perdomo has been promoted to the majors this season from F'in A ball and is being asked to pitch to this offense and I kind of feel bad for him because that's just not fair. Tyler Wilson has to be the favorite here as I will be shocked if we find a way to lose this game.

Every team in the division lost today, so take that AL East! If we can't win, no one gets to win. Well, the Yankees and Jays had an off day today, but they lost their last game played too. Meanwhile, every team in the Central won today with the exception of KC and the Twins who had off days today. KC sits an even game back of Cleveland with their win today and in the West, well, we all know what's going on there. Texas now has a 9.5 game lead on Seattle and we're not even to the AS break yet. I think Texas has to be the favorites to win the Series this year at this point.

Lightning struck my house and my TV & Internet are out.. Good thing I just found out a way to illegally stream the game (hopefully it works) :thumbsup1:

Lightning actually struck your house? Or just close enough to put your TV/Internet out?

    • Aren't the Tides struggling enough already?
    • Not even a platinum glove is worth that kind of abysmal production at the plate. Elias should capitalize on Hays' option and send him to Norfolk to play every day. If there's an injury to one of the OF's on the major league roster or he gets into a groove at the plate, call him back up. Give Stowers an opportunity - even just as a sparingly-used 4th OF - to reward him for multiple seasons of good production in the minors.
    • Is this a serious statement?  Did we find out if Cowser was “cut out for the majors” last season when he struggled? Did we find out about Grayson last season when he struggles so much that he had to be sent down? Just curious, how long have you watched baseball? I ask because I have read several of these hyperbolic reactions when the kid hasn’t even played a full week of games and the first thing that I a think is what is this poster’s frame of reference? Have they not watched various top players/prospect struggle when first coming to the show? I don’t mean to be insulting but it get’s a little exhausting reading these type of instantaneous indictments of a 20 year-old uber-talented kid who has not found his groove after 25 ABs.
    • Cowser never had the chance to play every day. It wasn't a similar situation to Holliday's callup outside of poor initial results. Holliday is being given a long leash to struggle and try to figure things out. Cowser had no such opportunity last season. Elias and Hyde were too enamored with Aaron Hicks.
    • Unless Baumann gets it in gear, I would dump him before anyone.   Can’t trust guys who can’t throw strikes.
    • I don’t think we need to talk in absolutes here. It’s possible he’s just not ready. Look at Cowser last year compared to this season.
    • Nine losses in a row for the Tides. Obviously they were not going to hit like they  did against a bad Charlotte team in a hitters ballpark. One game they scored five runs and the rest four or less.
