In two starts against the Yankees both at home, he has allowed six runs in 12.2 IP this season. His career numbers at Yankee Stadium are nothing short of atrocious, though. After a rough April (5.06 ERA), Sabathia went through a stretch of seven games where he allowed only four earned runs in 44 innings through May and mid-June. He faced the Orioles twice during that time and allowed no runs in 12 innings on eight hits and eight walks. Since then, he has allowed five earned or more in four of the last five starts. He allowed four earned in his last start against Boston of 5.1 innings along with one UER. Over those five starts, Sabathia has allowed no fewer than nine base runners in each game. If the Yankees are going to get back into the playoff race, they are going to need Sabathia to find his groove again.

Gallardo manages to pitch seven innings, but allows four runs as he just can't keep the game ERA under four while also going at least six innings. Adam Jones also seems like he may be hurt and every injury will just further expose the Orioles nonexistent depth and show why they are probably not a playoff team. Furthermore, the Yankees only had to use Betances which means Miller and Chapman will be good to go as the Yankees go for the four game sweep tomorrow afternoon. The Orioles have no energy while the Yankees have tons of it and are pretty much dominating the Orioles in this series. Replacement players Reimold and Flaherty aren't helping and if Jones is hurt, that'll be three replacement level players potentially with Borbon likely slotting into the outfield. Even before the team lost some of their players, they weren't playing all that well this month and have now been shutout as well. The Yankees FO seem poised to be sellers, but the players obviously have other ideas and are still very much alive. I didn't see that coming, but that's what has happened. Toronto is only a half game back of the Orioles now as they continue to be hot and Boston's offense is once again red hot as both teams are poised to take over the division from the Orioles who, barring a massive comeback for the Giants, are now in sole possession of first place.

Tillman's numbers at Yankee Stadium are bad enough to make me pause, but Sabathia has struggled mightily for awhile now himself in general. He has not allowed a run against the Orioles in 12 innings this season, so who knows which way this one will go. The Orioles will once again rely on Chris Tillman to stop the bleeding before we head back home to face the Indians who are 30-22 on the road.

Boston and Toronto both win today as Boston has won eight of 10 and Toronto seven of 10 and only a half game back along with the Orioles for second place and are in danger of dropping to third place. The Yankees are now 5.5 games back of the division lead and will be 4.5 back with a win tomorrow. Both WC spots are tied up in the AL East right now. Cleveland is crushing KC who fall to six back of the WC and need to get going if they want to stay in it. Detroit is only 4.5 back of the WC, but they are getting stomped by the Twins who have been playing really good baseball. Texas is playing the Angels right now who dropped four runs on Martin Perez in the first inning. The Angels have won five in a row and eight of 10 themselves, but have a lot of work to do being 11 games out of the WC and probably don't have a chance. Houston is 2.5 back of the WC and four back in the division, but that will change to 3.5 if Texas loses.

      There were several and I was one them. I'm  on record as saying I was one of his biggest Apologists . You should feel good about yourself as you were able to see that Means would be imploding before our very eyes( which was an opinion or a guess, which is what I did) as far as feeling bad for me? Dont I'm plenty good enough to know I wont be able to guess right every time

      Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.

      What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
