</b>

Bundy pitched very well against the Indians in his last start and will look to duplicate that success here against the Rockies who he has never faced. Bundy's BAA is still extremely high and troubling, but he is at least able to pitch well from the stretch which does wonders for damage control. Unless something horrible happens, it looks like Bundy is in the rotation to stay this season, so let's see what the kid's got.

Jon Gray

(6-4)

4.12 (1.16/.229)

QS: 11

Gray actually looks like he may have a bright future in the majors. After a rough two starts in April (11.42), he bounced back in May (4.17), June (3.77) and July (2.05) and has continued to get better as the season goes on as shown by tossing 11 starts with game-ERAs under four. Of course, he has never faced the Orioles.

Well, that's why you play the games. Tillman tossed a stinker and "some guy" known as Bettis pitched a hell of a game for the Rockies who get the win 6-3 setting up the unexpected rubber match tomorrow with Bundy against Gray. The Rockies actually have a pretty solid ballclub. I guess their pitching just got off to a rough start because both De La Rosa and Bettis pitched extremely well and their bullpen hasn't looked that bad either. The Rockies gave away the first game which they probably should have won or at least should not have ended when it did in the 10th inning. We shall see how it goes tomorrow before playing the make up game against the Twins and heading off to Toronto.

Another toss up. Gray has been pretty solid for the Rockies most of the season while Bundy is just getting his feet wet as a starter. I think it's only a matter of time (as it always is) until the league figures him out and he starts getting hammered, but I don't think that moment is here just yet. Gray should put up a fight, but how much is yet to be seen while it really could go either way for Bundy.

Toronto and New York both won their third in a row today with Toronto winning in the 12th inning after falling behind 6-4, they scored three runs in the bottom of the inning and won the game on a wild pitch. The Yankees handed Houston their second loss in a row just to show how well the Yankees are playing right now and have now won eight of 10. They are now only four back of the WC and have closed to 6.5 of the Orioles, but I seriously doubt they have a shot at the division. It sure would be interesting having four teams vying for first, though. Meanwhile, Boston lost their second in a row to Detroit falling to third place with Toronto's win putting them a half game in second and two games behind the Orioles. They are putting themselves in good position to do some damage when the Orioles go to Toronto in a few days. Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago all won today with Chicago having won four in a row and KC has lost three in a row and seem to be dead in the water with injuries having derailed them this year. Texas is down to the A's in their game now and Seattle won their game today sitting 4.5 back of the WC with Houston having fallen two games back at the hands of the Yankees. The Rockies are six games back of the NL WC and have no shot catching the Giants for the division.

    • The Angels have a pretty good lineup. Just a combo of old and young. It’s actually a good thing that Trout hit the bomb and Hyde/Burnes didn’t have to deal with the No No.  This dude is a stud. Talk about the perfect dude to have around our young pitchers. Especially Grayson.
    • Condolences to you and your family.
    • My father passed away earlier this month. I am on spring break so yesterday I had to drive to the eastern Shore first to get an original copy of his will from his lawyer, then go to Worcester County court house and open the estate, then stop at his bank in Millsboro, DE to settle his accounts there and setup his estate account. Starting at 6am I made a loop from Baltimore-Ocean City-Snow Hill-Millsboro-Baltimore. I made it home just as Burnes was finishing the first inning.  My Dad loved baseball, it was one of those things that we could actually talk about in that completely stereotypical father-son way. Part of me wants to believe that one was for him.
    • Yeah, no way that happens. They’re really bad. I’ll be surprised if they win 70.
    • Comcast has been doing this with all the regional sports networks around the country. They know that live sports are the major drivers of subscriptions for bloated packages that most people don't consume in any meaningful way.  I share my MIL Xfinity login so I can stream from the MASN app. The app is certainly NOT the best, but any port in a storm. Hopefully new ownership means we can have a direct streaming option sooner than later.  I swear, make a deal with one of the local broadcast affiliates to put the game on one of the alternate areial channels. I know some people might be upset with reruns of the Rifleman being pre-empted during the summer but dang just do it.  All that said, I am old enough to remember the HTS days, when it was a "premium," channel so watching the Orioles on TV was a luxury that I did not have a lot growing up. The more things change...
    • Good list. I think Gillies and Armbruester have a pretty decent chance, dependent on how they do this year of course. They might even make major league appearances this year, particularly Armbruester. I’d tier them above the rest of the “unlikely” group.
