If so it was a hell of a job by Buck to hold this thing together as long as he did. This rotation outside of Tillman and a few starts by Bundy has pretty much been hot garbage all season and they led the best division in baseball into August.

The wild card is still a possibility we still lead and only the Mariners are within 4 games of us, They are going to need to get Gausman and Gallardo to pick it up for Bundy and Tilman looking little tired injured. That loss last night seemed really hard on the team from some of post game press conferences. They play 162 games for a reason so we will see.

In the long run, it doesn't mean squat, does it? Buck's been skipper since what? ... 2011? ... went to the ALCS once, ALDS once. Frankly, better than it was for a long time before he came here.

It's definitely a seeking feeling - Nats coming to town next week, and all I can do is sit back and watch the O's helplessly flail. Might be time for everyone to step back from the board, it will probably get ugly soon.

The players have no reason to hang their heads. Buck should be proud as well. The worst part about the season dying out is that this will be about the same team next year.
Sadly, this team may be worse next year. Wiets ... gone. Trumbo ... gone. Alvarez ... gone. Pearce ... gone. Ubaldo ... stays. An unhappy Manny looking to sign elsewhere. Davis declining. Outfield consisting of a declining Jones, Kim and Reimold, with Dickerson as backup. Hardy in his last year (club option in '18). The only bright spots will be Bundy in the rotation w/ Tillman (who both may be gone after next year.. or is it the year after for Bundy?) and Schoop.

I blame Peter Angelos for making Dan Duquette stay, when DD could have been wrecking havoc w/ Toronto by now.
