Dylan Bundy

(9-5)

3.88 (1.39/.260)

96K / 39BB, 16HR

QS: 3

Last 6 starts (29 IP): (3-2) 6.21 (1.83), 19BB, 7HR

</b>

Bundy has really struggled over the last six starts overall. He had a couple good ones in there, but overall not good. The WHIP and ERA are sky high over that span with seven homers allowed and a whopping 19 walks in 29 innings. Bundy struggled through 5.1 innings in his last start against Boston and allowed three runs on six hits and four walks good for 10 base runners. His numbers against Boston this season are atrocious, but he's been good at home.

Rick Porcello

(20-4)

3.12 (1.00/.229)

167K / 29BB, 21HR

QS: 19

Porcello has rattled off 10 straight sub-4/6+ starts including the absolute gem he threw against the Orioles in the last start which he lost on the only mistake pitch he threw all game. He has certainly earned those 20 wins and every bit of Cy Young chatter surrounding him this season. His career numbers against the Orioles didn't apply at Fenway, so let's see if the same happens at Camden Yards. Now, he has career numbers against the team and the park against him. Generally, Porcello has been excellent on the road though.

Hyun-Soo Kim 1/3

Miley started off well retiring the first nine batters he faced, but got into trouble in the fourth inning and then injured his back falling off the mound after a pitch. Odorizzi pitched a strong six innings himself perhaps the best he's ever looked against the Orioles allowing only the solo homer to Manny in the sixth and the Rays had the solo from Dickerson off the first pitch from O'Day who relieved Miley. Fortunately for the Orioles, Ryan Garton had a bad approach to Trumbo in the eighth allowing Trumbo to hit a solo to take the 2-1 lead and that turned out to be the game. The Orioles split the series which isn't a good result really IMO. Still, it's better than dropping three of four.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to match Bundy up against Porcello when Gausman would be on regular rest, but we'll see how it goes here. Porcello and Gausman were incredible in the finale at Fenway and it's too bad we won't see a rematch here.

Wild Card Standings

Detroit -2.0

Houston -3.0

NY Yankees -4.0

KC Royals -5.0
