Gallardo is all over the place performance wise this season and has an ERA in the mid-5's in the last three months. He has not done well at all against the Yankees or at Yankee Stadium for his career.

Michael Pineda

QS: 10

Well, Pineda pitches well against us and although he has a 1.90 ERA in September, he has not gotten through the sixth inning a single time. He has 34 strikeouts in 23.2 innings, though. Pineda has allowed two runs in 10 innings against the Orioles this season.

Mark Trumbo 2/8, 2B, 2BB

Pedro Alvarez 1/6, 2B, RBI

The Blue Jays had the life sucked out of them by Hyun-soo Kim in game two with his game winning home run off of Osuna in the ninth inning and they played like it. No energy at all in this one and Jimenez really stepped up to keep them from gaining any of it back. The Jays looked beaten before this game was even over. Tulowitzki not hustling down the line cost him a base hit and then Pillar taking his time getting to the ball in center allowing Trumbo to stretch a single into a double easily. Stroman wasn't really bad, but he had no offensive support at all in this one. Now, all they need to do is beat the Yankees and hope everyone else loses. The Yankees are playing really well and will complete a three game sweep of Boston if they hold their lead tonight, so it certainly won't get any easier.

Pineda has always pitched well against the Orioles including this season, but has not been getting deep into games at all this month. Gallardo has been erratic, but has done alright in three of the last four starts. He's bad against the Yankees in NY for his career, though.

Wild Card Standings

*Toronto --

*Baltimore --

Detroit -1.5

Seattle -2.0

o

The Orioles may be going to Hell in a bucket ........ but at least they're enjoying the ride.

Heh. I went to a game the last time the O's came up to Yankee Stadium for a series and based on how they played it didn't look like they were having any fun....

Heh.

That was then.

This is now.

The Orioles just won 5 out of their last 6 games, including 2 out of 3 from the Blue Jays on their home field in Toronto, and they just mathematically eliminated the Yankees from the post-season by beating the Blue Jays last night ........ that sounds like fun to me.

They also lost 6 of 8 at home right before they won the last 5 of 6. The Os have had trouble with the Yanks on the road... I hope we win 2 of 3 but 1 of 3 wouldn't surprise me... Just hope Boston plays the Blue Jays hard...

The Redsox also swept the Orioles before they were swept by the Yankees. Baseball is funny.

o

The did.

And the Orioles, one week before getting shellacked by the Red Sox at home, took 2 out of 3 from the Red Sox, in Fenway Park.

The Orioles are still in it.

The Yankees are not.

So it's more fun to be an Oriole (or an Oriole fan) than to be a Yankee (or a Yankee fan) right now.
