Walking the bases loaded is always a dubious strategy.

Yeah, but I liked it in this case. Two outs, you need to get an out. Just as easy to get Coghlan as Montero. And you get Chapman out of the game for the 9th.

If he gets Montero and a reliever far inferior to Chapman has to pitch the 9th, Roberts is hailed as a genius for an outside the box move.

I liked the move. It didn't work.

I suppose the issue is more that Joe Blanton is pitching. He doesn't need added pressure.

Round 1 goes to the Cubs.

I think the Dodgers should be encouraged, in spite of the loss. After falling behind 3-0 after only 2 innings, the Cubs still only had 3 runs in the 8th inning before breaking the game open with the 2-out grand slam.

After 2 innings, I thought that the game might be an easy Cubs win. It wasn't.
